Athleisure is no longer a trend; it’s a breathing element for all clothing brands aiming to make their collections more aesthetic, casual and comfortable. And it is everywhere!

Making this global phenomenon easier, fun and interesting, the sportswear giant Fila collaborated with Mriga Kapadiya and Amrit Kumar’s NorBlack NorWhite to create a fusion streetwear collection bringing the Indian signature bandhani print to gender-neutral pieces. NorBlack NorWhite is on an innovative and experimental streak, even earning an international nod of approval by Frida Gianinni, ex-creative director of Gucci. Now the creative force behind the label has reinvented the classic Indian bandhani print, which is mostly used on sarees and kurtis, and made it a fun element for everyday clothing. The mix of Indian wear onto an athleisure collection requires a very strong and confident performance. Enter Fila X.
NorBlack NorWhite has definitely set the bar higher with this futuristic style. The collection boasts the perfect laid-back pieces in neutral shades with bursts of vibrancy. A contrasting world can be found in the collection – bringing together a beautiful mix of bright Indian textiles with modern street culture.
While laying an observed eye on it the voice of a wardrobe update calls out to you. The collection includes Baseball Jerseys with the age-old Indian textile print and colourful detailing on the sleeves, track pants and hoodies with multi-coloured tassels on the sides, and black sweats and shorts with signature bandhani print. The collaboration perfectly mixed modern Indian streetwear while preserving the classic, beautiful Indian prints. It also acts as a major driving force in enlightening the youth to appreciate and feel the historic royal bandhani prints through their medium of clothing. A line of accessories including fanny packs and socks has also been given the golden touches of fusion indie streetwear. But the biggest surprise comes with the ethnic makeover of the iconic Fila Disruptor (both black & white) in signature bandhani style with vivid pops of colour. It is truly the showstopper of the collection.

The collaboration has managed to nurture the historic prints of India and infuse them into modern streetwear. It dropped on November 24,2018, creating a wild hype. It is available at selected outlets online including VegNon-Veg and Koovs.
